Poster for 8/31/2020 NARCAN distribution

On August 31, 2020, Alger County Communities that Care and other organizations helped distribute Naloxone (also called NARCAN) provided free by the State of Michigan. The event took place at the Tribal Center Parking lot at 622 W Superior Street in Munising from 9 AM to 11:30 AM. About 50 doses were distributed in Alger County, including Munising and Grand Marais.

Naloxone is a compound that can block the effect of opiods and is credited with saving lives of those who overdose on opiods. For more information or for free NARCAN, contact Monica Erickson with Luce Marquette Alger Schoolcraft Health Department at 906-322-4444.
