The Communities That Care model is evidence-based.

Every two years Alger County Youth in grades 6th,8th, 10th and 12th grades participate in the Youth Survey, that means AC3 gathers local data about Alger County youth in order to ensure that the actions we take address the real problems local youth face. Alger County Communities That Care (AC3)  brings together local organizations and resources to reduce youth risks, enhance protective factors, and provide evidenced based prevention programming addressing:

  • Teen pregnancy
  • Violence
  • Delinquency
  • School drop out
  • Substance abuse
  • Depression/Suicide.

AC3’s action target specific needs of Alger County youth Using youth survey results specific to our county. This year we will be targeting the following two risk factors:

  • Low Perceived Risk of Harm from Drug use
  • Depressive Symptoms/Anxiety
